My Vote Counts
Thursday February 7, 2008
In a surprise move today, Mitt Romney bowed out of the race for President. Can't wait to see what happens next and how this impacts the Kansas caucuses!

As far as I know, Governor Mike Huckabee is the only candidate who has discussed parental rights and is in favor of the proposed constitutional amendment protecting parental rights from further decay from our own courts and from international laws and treaties.
For more information on the erosion of parental rights and the proposed amendment, visit www.parentalrights.org. There's a link to the right.

Governor Huckabee had a good showing last night, and his campaign is celebrating today. However, I agree with what the Governor said last night in an ABC interview. Although it was a good night, expectations were higher.
Missouri looked like it was going to turn in a big delegate win for Huckabee, and at the ninth hour, with just a few thousand votes, McCain pulled into the lead. I was really counting on Missouri.
We still have Texas, however, and it's looking good for a Huckabee win. There are other states where he has a legitimate shot as well.
There is some buzz about him taking the vice-presidency, but I'm still holding out hope for a narrow win as the presidential nominee. I haven't counted up the delegates, but it's still mathematically possible. (Anyone out there know the numbers?)
So, I plan to keep praying and keep working for an ultimate Huckabee victory. His political career is characterized by come from behind victories. And, hey. Huckabee himself says that he believes in miracles. And if a miracle is what it takes, I think he has the necessary connections.
Oh, and if Romney drops out between now and then, even better.

First of all... The AP has declared Mike a winner in West Virginia, a winner-take-all state! Yea!
Second... Dr. James Dobson has issued a strong anti-McCain statement. McCain is NOT a social conservative and has dubious views regarding stem cell research and the right to life.
Third... To Elisabeth Hasselbeck of ABC's The View... Mike Huckabee is more than an intelligent, nice guy. He IS a capable, conservative executive, and if we (conservatives) get behind him, he CAN win. We do NOT have to settle for a McCain or Romney. There is another, better, choice.
Fourth... Call someone today in a Super Tuesday state and remind him/her to vote for Huckabee. Pray for God's will to be done.

Governor Huckabee was, without a doubt, the most polished and most genuine candidate at the recent Republican debate in California. Interestingly, he was not given the time to speak that he deserved.
As usual, Romney seemed slick and calculated. As usual, McCain seemed slow and plodding. If Romney or McCain win the Republican nomination, it will simply be more fodder for David Letterman.
Some say Huckabee can't win. Well, I say, if you vote for him, he can.
He's our best hope against either Obama or Clinton. Think about it. Do you really think any of the other Republican candidates can win a debate with either of those gifted, albeit rhetoric-laced, speakers? As much as you may despise the democratic party's tactics or platform, you have to admit that they have intelligent, articulate leaders. Scary, huh?
Huckabee's our man. He was when he won Iowa, and he still is.
Super Tuesday is coming. Please vote for Mike Huckabee. It's time to see past the politics and vote with courage and hope.
